In addition to stimulating your body's defensive system, CA 15-3 is also a powerful antioxidant. There are certain types of cancer cells that secrete the antigen CA 15-3 into the bloodstream. Some cancers are monitored with this test. It's believed that cancers that recur after therapy are the most likely to produce CA 15-3.
